By the time we got to Toronto it was pretty late so we slept in and went straight to the game. I took a wrong turn on the way and we lost quite a bit of time but when we got there, the fans were packed about 10-15 rows deep trying to get autographs. That is what happens when the Yankees come to town. We just shopped for souvenirs and I finally managed to find a decent pin for Mitchell's collection.
Rogers Centre is what the old SkyDome is now named. With clouds on the way in, I had hoped for a great photo day but, much to my dismay, they closed the roof just before game time. I thought they were crazy, but then found out that it was raining. Bummer! I had watched the Skydome being built and, with it centerfield hotel, etc. always looked forward to seeing a game there. I was a bit disappointed as it is somewhat dark with the roof closed, and the seats were very tight with little leg room.
Mitchell does not like the Yankees. I like them ok, but I like the Red Sox better. I did not really root for either team but Mitchell enjoyed seeing the Yankees stomped 13-5. It was a great American League hitters game, with 6 home runs (5 by the Blue Jays) and 28 hits.
After the game we drove to Niagara Falls and stayed on the Canadian side. Mitchell got into taking photos of the falls and the fireworks over the falls, though we were not well positioned for the fireworks. We had a lot of fun though, and had to scramble to eat dinner before everything closed down.
