The Art of Photographing Nature
Author(s): Wolfe/Hill
Paperback
Photo/Diagram Quality: Excellent
Text Quality: Good+
An interesting approach is used as master photographer Art Wolfe presents many of his photos with his comments on them followed by comments from Martha Hill, who is formerly photo editor at Audobon. The book reads like an illustrated conversation between the two. Subjects covered include:
- Isolating the Subject
- Composition
- Perspective
- Color
- Elements of Design
- Reading the Light
- Creative Options
- In the Field (with Art Wolfe)
- At the Light Table (with Martha Hill)
There were several times when reading this book that I wished for more information. Art Wolfe sometimes makes it look to easy. But it is an outstanding book and Martha Hill's insights are very useful, especially for those who are looking to publish their work.
