Author(s): Shaw (John)
Paperback - 2000 (Updated from 1984 Edition)
Photo/Diagram Quality: Good+
Text Quality: Good+
A classic book on professional field techniques that apply to much more than just nature photography. Recently updated to include the latest in equipment, etc.  Subjects presented include:

  1. Exposure
  2. Equipment
  3. Lenses
  4. Composition
  5. Closeups
  6. In the Field (tips for coping with weather, using natural light, blinds, shooting from the car, stalking subjects successfully, etc.)

What can I say about perhaps the finest book available for learning photography (as mentioned above, not just nature photography but general photography as well). Shaw combines easy to understand examples with beautiful photos. The text is easy to read, the photos will inspire you, and you will certainly end up a better photographer than you were before you read it.
