Busselle presents a number of photographs that are inspiring, and allow the reader to discover how they were made. Topics covered are:
- The Subject
- The Art of Composition (viewpoint, framing, shapes and patterns, perspective, color, close-ups, etc.)
- Light(sunlight, times of day, sunrise, sunset, etc.)
- Cameras and Equipment
Most all of the photos are in color.
In the "Better Picture Guide" series, Busselle describes each photograph (or series of photographs, to explain to the reader what he saw; how he approached it technically (how he made the lens, filter, exposure, etc. choices; and what adjustments he made while shooting to improve the photo. Thus, the reader can learn a lot about composition in these books, as well as the creative use of equipment.
